Hello, my name is Astro Leon-Jhong. I was born in San Francisco, CA and began my interest in character art at the age of 3 scribbling people slugs on the hallways of my house. I quickly moved on to costume design, creating new outfits and paint jobs for my entire action figure collection. Once in school, I decided to take the 3D plunge immersing myself in Maya and Zbrush. Right before graduating in 2012, I realized that I missed the old days of people slugs and decided to move into character design work.
I am a graduate from San Jose State University with a BFA in Animation/Illustration. I have worked on various projects as a 2D animator, Character Designer, and Storyboard Artist. I am available for employment and you can reach me and my slugs through through email at:
